History of T.E.Y.A

With the brutal murders of Amaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd weighing on our hearts, we began to use our distance learning platforms for discussions on Racism, Racial Bias, and Racial Inequalities. Joining in community efforts, we learned that San Jose Police Department had committed 19 murders over the last 5 years. As teachers who want a more equitable world, this is unacceptable! Therefore we have been called to action in furthering anti-racist efforts starting with the youth.

We believe all youths can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
