Teachers Empowering Youth Activists
T.E.Y.A. is an organization of BIPOC and ally teachers who strive to educate and motivate youth throughout Santa Clara County. Our purpose is reflected in our mission, vision, and guiding principles.
On behalf of Santa Clara Valley Math Council and Teachers Empowering Youth Activists, we would like to thank you for attending and participating in the screening of COUNTED OUT at San Jose State University on February 27th!

Our Mission
We leverage our expertise and experience to support educators and to prepare youth to become active civic participants, address injustice, and become change agents in their community.
Our Vision
We aim to create a generation of active youth who take ownership of their voices in shaping their neighborhoods and communities.
OUR GOALS
Empower Youth
Create a holistic approach to increase and amplify youth activism and foster a culture in Santa Clara county where youth voices are valued and they gain the skills to lead change effectively.
Support Teachers
Develop a comprehensive support and training structure to empower K-12 educators with the knowledge, strategies, and tools to equip students to become engaged members of their communities, and to create classrooms that prioritize social justice and belonging.
